Making (small)

March 6, 2013 ·

With our innate human desire
to connect,
to be one with,
to belong,

it is powerfully tempting
to make ourselves small

in the midst of smallness.

*

What do I mean by smallness?

Nothing judgmental, really.

Only small
by way of limited thinking
and limited identity
which both result
in limited ways
of acting and being.

It can feel “wrong”
for some of us
to squeeeeze ourselves
into the “small box.”

It can feel intuitively wrong
and yet we do this
in order to connect,
to be one with,
to belong.

*

We also have the tendency
to make ourselves small
when we are in the midst
of Greatness.

*

What do I mean by Greatness?

I mean being in the presence of
someone or something
that is clearly emanating
a Power that is
Greater than ourselves.

*

There is a big difference, you know,
between being humble
and being small.

When we are humble, we are Nothing.

*

Making ourselves small, however, is the work of the ego
(and it only serves to make it bigger).
Haha! :)

*

Is it possible to Just Be?

Even in the midst of smallness?

Even when the smallness can see only smallness in Us?

Oh, yes.

*

Is it possible to Just Be?

Even in the midst of Greatness?

Even when the Greatness can see only Greatness in Us?

Oh, yes.

*

Try it and see.

Taste Your Own Freedom.

See what it is

to Connect,
to be One with,
to Belong,

to that
Power
that is
Greater
than Ourselves
.
